The story “Greasing three times per day was the norm on this John Deere 220 C LC track hoe,” says Rich Buchner, head of maintenance at Biedenbach’s. The operator would grease it first thing in the morning. By 10:30 the pins would be squeaking and he’d grease it again. By 2:30 it was time for the third greasing of the day. The story Martin Powell, Plant Manager, and Russell Smith, Plant Maintenance, previously used Citgo EP grease in all their bearings at their plant. After seeing the Schaeffer #238 Ultra Supreme grease, they decided to try it throughout the Johnson Concrete Company block plant in Willow Spring, NC. They have two Smart PAC Vibrators that have two $150 roller bearings. The vibrators are used to vibrate the cement mix into the block molds. They had to replace these bearings every two – three months when using the Citgo EP2 grease.
